This is definitely a simple salad. It is a salad for when you have overindulged the day before, or are feeling sick, or are feeling deeply healthy. It is also surprisingly enjoyable and satisfying, and leaves you feeling great. It takes broccoli and lightly steams it, retaining all the flavour and crunch, and the beautiful rich green colour. The broccoli is then complemented by sesame seeds, and flavoured with a drizzle of sesame oil. It isn’t enough to dominate the taste of the broccoli, but enhances it very well. I had this for lunch yesterday, followed by a cupcake. Both of these things will be repeated.
Simple Broccoli and Sesame Salad (serves one)

Two tablespoons of sesame seeds, raw or toasted
Drizzle of sesame oil
Cut the broccoli into large florets, and heat water to boiling. Steam the broccoli for a few minutes, stopping while thy are still firm, bright green, and slightly crunchy. Tip into a bowl, and toss with the oil and sesame seeds. Serve straight away.
